Mathematical Modeling and Optimization of Vanadium-Titanium Black Ceramic Solar Collectors

چکیده

The vanadium-titanium black ceramic (VTBC) coating on all-ceramic solar collectors has both high absorptance (0.94) and emissivity (90%). However, the thermal conductivity of is very low (1.256 W/mK). To improve heat collection efficiency VTBC collectors, this paper establishes a mathematical model based energy-conservation relationships under steady-state conditions creates corresponding computer program. Key parameters for include heat-removal factor, effective transmittance-absorptance product absorber, total loss coefficient, etc. Then, via experimental testing, study proposes reference domestic in cold location (? = 0.89 ? 2.20Tm*). Last, work analyzes influences fin design transparent cover individually, using created Results show that most optimization method to increase transmittance cover. By increasing from 0.93 0.96, an optimized collector theoretical 0.92

Mathematical modeling and thermal performance analysis of unglazed transpired solar collectors

Unglazed transpired collectors or UTC (also known as perforated collectors) are a relatively new development in solar collector technology, introduced in the early nineties for ventilation air heating. These collectors are used in several large buildings in Canada, USA and Europe, effecting considerable savings in energy and heating costs. Transpired collectors are a potential replacement for g...

Geometric Optimization of Concentrating Solar Collectors using Monte Carlo Simulation

This paper presents an optimization algorithm for designing linear concentrating solar collectors using stochastic programming. A Monte Carlo technique is used to quantify the performance of the collector design in terms of an objective function, which is then minimized using a modified Kiefer-Wolfowitz algorithm that uses sample size and step size controls. This process is more efficient than ...

Numerical analysis of thermal-hydraulic properties of turbulent aerosol-carbon black nanofluid flow in corrugated solar collectors with double application

In this study the effects of corrugated absorber plate and using aerosol-carbon black nanofluid on heat transfer and turbulent flow in solar collectors with double application and air heating collectors, were numerically investigated. The two-dimensional continuity, momentum and energy equation were solved by finite volume and SIMPLE algorithm. In the present investigation all the simulations w...
